Embracing Autumn: Slow Living, Comfort Food & Seasonal Finds
The nights are drawing in, rain and jumpers are back. Which can only mean one thing - we’re in a new season. Personally, this is one of my favourite times of the year, but I know some struggle with the shorter days, longer nights and saying goodbye to fair summer. So, if you are someone who is struggling, I hear you. I see you.
Why Autumn is the Cosy Season We All Need
But for a moment, I want to bring you around to the magic of Autumn. And why I love it so deeply. It’s the season to lean into cosy. Think candle light, hand-knitted socks, freshly baked bread with melting salted butter and story telling around a roaring, crackling fire. It’s the season of collecting conkers, kids in wellies jumping in every single puddle on their way home.
Comfort Food That Defines the Season
And as far as I’m concerned, when Nigel Slater recipes come into their own. Oh and crumbles. We can’t forget the art of a homemade bubbling-over-the-edge crumble. Serve it with custard, cream, ice-cream… you can’t really go wrong, can you?
Autumn Home Decor at Animula
With this new season in the air, naturally this means new things are coming to Animula very soon — from vintage ceramics to blankets that invite you to cosy-up and embrace the Autumn pace of life.
Join the Festive Wreath Workshop in Manchester
And finally, a little news hot off the press. This December, I’ll be hosting an afternoon of festive wreath making at the Old Parsonage in Didsbury, Manchester. Tickets will be limited, so if you want the chance to join the fun, then become a friend of Animula to be the first to know.
Wishing you a season of cosiness, creativity and Autumn inspiration. Don’t forget, you’re never too old to have a pocketful of conkers.
Love, Róisín x
